An entrepreneur himself, Peter Brown uses his first-hand experience to help fellow business owners and executives overcome obstacles and plan for the future. With over 30 years of experience Peter has a working knowledge of a wide range of business challenges and strategies.

In the 1980s, Peter started and grew a public accounting office in the Niagara Region, which he later sold and merged with a large multi-national accounting firm. He subsequently operated his own management consulting business, with a focus on business finance and refinance.

In 1999 he established and operated Peter Brown Financial Group, a personal financial planning business. He earned membership in the Million Dollar Round Table and CALU (The Conference for Advanced Life Underwriting). He built the business to serve over 325 clients with their financial planning. Peter sold the financial planning business in 2008.

Peter currently owns and operates Copper Beech Company and coaches’ members of business families in succession and other family business matters, he also coaches new business owners and owners of growing businesses in stragtegic planning processes .

Further, Peter has also contributed to the enhancement of his public and business communities; writing newspaper columns, blogs on personal finance and family wealth, speaking to groups about personal financal planning and business succession.

As a volunteer, he is the chairman of the Kiwanis Music Festival of St. Catharines, Trustee on the Board of Shaver Hotel Dieu Hospital and mentor through the City of Niagara Falls in a program called ‘Starter Company’. Peter is one of six finalists across Canada for the Business Development Banks Canadian Mentor of the Year Award.

Peter is married with three daughters and two grandsons. He enjoys cooking, reading and travel.
